Chris Reed and the Anime Raiders Releases New Single ‘Kauro-chan’

Chris Reed and the Anime Raiders are a cyberspace based band founded in 1999. They’ve been releasing a lot of music during lockdown, and have won Best Alternative Band from the Independent Music Channel for the past two years. They are an indie hall of fame band whose song “Jennifer” spent 26 weeks in the Indie top 10. Indie to the core, they have walked away from TWO record deals and prefer life as it is.

Most sounds are made by Chris Reed at Edge of the World Studios in San Francisco.

“I originally wrote this song to submit to Carlos Santana, which he turned down because he didn’t want to do a song with a joke premise. To be honest, it never even occurred to me that the lyrics were funny. I just wanted to write a blues song about someone who no longer has the blues. Stylistically it borrows much from his work but also the pop stylings of Todd Rundgren.

All instruments and vocals performed by Chris Reed, recorded at Edge of the World Studios in San Francisco. Also, if you pick up the single from your usual sources you will be treated with an additional track where I recorded over 60 instruments.”
